Global beauty standards often lead to many people feeling insecure about their looks and body. This, in turn, gives way to a huge market that caters to weight loss and the notion of “looking your best.” As a result, of late, it’s not uncommon to hear about weird diets and eating habits.
Whether you’re a foodie or a fitness freak, we bet you haven’t ever heard about the diets we have lined up for you today. Prepare to be shocked!
1. The Prayer Diet
Now, this diet may be the only diet on the list which is not extreme or dangerous because it only requires you to pray the fat away. Religious people pray in hopes of losing weight but, as is painfully obvious to most of us, this doesn’t actually work unless you eat healthy food and exercise. In all fairness, however, praying can have a motivational and positive effect on your weight loss journey.
2. Ear Stapling
This bizarre diet is based on some studies that claim that if you staple certain areas of your ear, it can promote weight loss and help you shed those extra pounds. It is important to note that many experts claim that this is a modernized version of traditional acupuncture which works to relax the body and increase blood circulation.
3. The Sleeping Diet
You might have already noticed the pattern in these diets: it’s all in the name. So, it shouldn’t be too hard to put two and two together to work out that the sleep diet consists of–sleeping. In this program, the person looking to lose weight is instructed to simply sleep their days away. When you are constantly sleeping, your body will not require any additional food and according to some, this can aid in weight loss. Now, before you grab your nightcap and set an alarm, for the following week, remember that extra sleeping can be severely damaging for your mind and body.
4. Dessert with Breakfast Diet
Usually, dessert is something you treat yourself to after a meal but this diet calls for eating dessert with your breakfast. Sure, this helps you control your sugar cravings but it also increases the glucose levels which can cause damage and may even lead to you developing diabetes.
With a little exercise and healthy eating, you can achieve your desired look. You don’t have to torture yourself with these bizarre diets just to look good.
